Position: UNIX Systems Admin
Location: CN01-Beijing
Job Responsibilities:
- Works on Unix or Linux based operating systems.- Administers
engineering computing environment, computing farms.- Assists and supports R&D
on software development by resolving system issues relating to software
development.- Collaborates with remote IT teams on engineering
computing services.- Collaborates with local IT team on server room operation,
assists on hardware installation and maintenance for servers.- Ability
to automate and support various system administration jobs.- Acts as a
front-line interface to R&D engineers, gives customer relative
trainings.- Ability to work extended hours, and address emergency situations at
any time of the day or night.- Responsible for customer issues, handles
end user support on a daily basis and has the ability to resolve or
dispatch them to appropriate system administrators.- Works under the
general supervision of IT manager, deliver results and achieves objectives.
Job Requirements:
- BS in Computing Science with 2 - 4 years of relevant experience or MS
with 0 - 2+ years of relevant experience.- Proficiency with Unix or
Linux system administration, understandings of operating system
architecture and knowledge of systems and performance tuning- Experience with
scripting, coding, compiling and debugging on Unix, familiar with
engineering computing and software development.- Knowledge of grid computing
technologies, such as Sun Grid Engine or Platforms LSF.- Familiar with
source code management tools. Experience with Perforce or ClearCase is a
plus.- Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, with
fluent oral and written English.- Must be able to schedule, multitask,
prioritize, accomplish R&D related activities and communicates actions and
results as needed.- Good teamworker, with enthusiastic, supportive,
responsible and serious attitude to work.- Previous experience in customer
support, computer operations, systems administration or other related
area.
